GW: Warhammer Fest 2021 Online – Tag 3 & 4

Warhammer Fest Online: Day 3 – Black Library

Before we get into revealing all the books you’ll be adding to your wishlist soon, it seems something has snuck into our announcement schedule…

That’s right, the Tanith First and Only are coming – behold the stars of Dan Abnett’s seminal novel series.

Gaunt’s Ghosts

If you’re not familiar, Gaunt’s Ghosts are the protagonists of the long-running series depicting the trials and tribulations of Ibram Gaunt and his ill-fated Astra Militarum regiment. Faithful readers of the books no doubt have a soft spot for the original cast who served as their Colonel-Commissar’s most trusted retainers.

Well, they’re back! They’ve been redesigned in plastic to create a reimagined set of miniatures that really brings each of the key characters from the early Gaunt’s Ghosts books to life.

Games Workshop Warhammer Fest Online Day 3 – Black Library 1

Amazing, right? If, however, you’ve yet to read the novels and are unfamiliar with these six core members of Gaunt’s Ghosts, allow us to formally introduce them (don’t worry – we’ll keep it spoiler-free).

Colonel-Commissar Ibram Gaunt

Having been a rising star under the command of Imperial Warmaster Slaydo, the freshly appointed Colonel-Commissar was set to command three newly founded Astra Militarum regiments from the forest world of Tanith.

Games Workshop Warhammer Fest Online Day 3 – Black Library 2

Yet when the planet was completely devastated by a Chaos invasion, only one regiment could be mustered from the survivors – hence the rather grim moniker that they inherited, the Tanith First and Only.

Gaunt soon discovered that the Tanith were light infantry without peer, their combination of woodsmanship and the distinct camo cloaks they wore ensuring their pre-eminence as scouts and stealth troopers. Gaunt would later use the innate skills of the Tanith to undertake daring raids and accomplish missions often deemed far beyond the capabilities of a regiment of Imperial Guard.

Colonel Colm Corbec

Games Workshop Warhammer Fest Online Day 3 – Black Library 3

The big, powerful, if somewhat unkempt first officer of the Tanith First and Only, Colm Corbec leads the regiment’s second platoon. Colm is second in command, but he’s also Gaunt’s closest confidant – almost like a brother.

Major Elim Rawne

Games Workshop Warhammer Fest Online Day 3 – Black Library 4

Despite possessing a ruthless streak a mile wide and a burning hatred towards Gaunt, who he blames for abandoning Tanith to its destruction, Elim Rawne is nonetheless a highly capable commander and leads the regiment’s third platoon. An expert with a blade, Rawne’s handsome face hides a murderous glint in his eyes, and he always keeps his razor-sharp Tanith warknife to hand.

Master Sniper Hlaine Larkin

Games Workshop Warhammer Fest Online Day 3 – Black Library 5

Hlaine ‘Mad’ Larkin may be somewhat eccentric, but it certainly doesn’t affect his aim. In fact, Larkin is widely lauded as the regiment’s finest marksman, and Gaunt often makes use of his dead-eye skills to eliminate threats to their mission from afar.

‘Try Again’ Bragg

Games Workshop Warhammer Fest Online Day 3 – Black Library 6

By far the biggest and strongest of the Tanith, Trooper Bragg towers over Colonel Corbec and even the tall, lean figure of Ibram Gaunt. Bragg serves alongside ‘Mad’ Larkin in Eleven Platoon and has such a powerful physique that he can wield heavy weaponry on his own without the need for a tripod mount. Unfortunately, his accuracy leaves a lot to be desired, earning him the nickname ‘Try Again’.

Sergeant Scout Oan Mkoll

Games Workshop Warhammer Fest Online Day 3 – Black Library 7

Four Platoon is the regiment’s scout platoon, led by Oan Mkoll. However, unlike more traditional regimental organisations, the scouts of Four Platoon are often spread out among the other Tanith platoons to serve as specialists. Mkoll is among the very best, having long mastered his craft amid the shifting woods of his former homeworld.

And there you have it – six stunning miniatures that perfectly encapsulate the characters they represent from the novels. Whether you’re an avid fan of the series or a painter looking for your next challenge, Gaunt’s Ghosts will be the perfect addition to your collection.

Warhammer Fest Online: Day 4 – Warhammer Underworlds, Necromunda, and Aeronautica Imperialis

Welcome to day four of Warhammer Fest Online. So far this week, we’ve met a new god of Destruction, seen reinforcements for the Adepta Sororitas, and had a first look at the Black Library books you’ll be reading soon. Today, it’s the turn of our boxed games and we have MASSIVE reveals for:

Warhammer Underworlds

Necromunda

Aeronautica Imperialis

We’ve got a model you’ve been asking about for years, the sneakiest spies, and something a little fishy. So put another pair of socks on, because we’re about to knock off the ones you’re wearing.

Warhammer Underworlds

Direchasm has been a great season for Warhammer Underworlds. We’ve seen a whole host of new warbands, such as Khagra’s Ravagers and the Crimson Court, that have brought incredible mechanics to the game, and now it’s time to reveal this season’s final warband.

Yes, it’s the first-ever Idoneth Deepkin warband for Warhammer Underworlds, and these are the first new models we’ve seen for this faction since the waves parted and we met the soul-hungry aelves. Let’s take a closer look at Elathain’s Soulraid.

Wait, is that a crab?! It looks like you’ll be able to put the pinch on any enemies that get in your way. The fighters in this warband have also got a fair few tricks up their excellently tailored aelven sleeves – we’ll be exploring these in detail when we get closer to their release.

Necromunda

Next, we move from the Mortal Realms to the underhive, but the haircuts remain the same.

It’s time for the Delaque clan to get the ‘House of’ treatment, as a new book is on the way. This tome contains more lore and deeper background on this mysterious clan than we’ve ever seen before, plus fresh ways to play your Delaque gangs.

Games Workshop Warhammer Fest Online Day 3 – Black Library 12

Along with the book, the Delaque are also getting some new fighters for their gangs that really embody their mysterious and unusual manners.

The Nacht-Ghul are new Delaque Champions – assassins and saboteurs without peer. If you need someone ‘disappeared’ or want an enemy factory to stop producing inexplicably, this is who you should call.

Games Workshop Warhammer Fest Online Day 3 – Black Library 13

At the other end of the experience-scale are the Psy-Gheists – youngsters who have learned how to tap into their psychic power.

Games Workshop Warhammer Fest Online Day 3 – Black Library 14

They’re accompanied by the strange creatures known as Psychoteric Wyrms and Piscean Spektors – we’re not entirely sure what these things are, but we’re going to have a lot of fun finding out.

Games Workshop Warhammer Fest Online Day 3 – Black Library 15

Oh, and just because we’ve announced books for the six ‘classic’ Necromunda Houses, you’d best not think there won’t be lots more stuff on the way for the underhive gang skirmish game. We’re only just getting started.

While we’re in the depths of the underhive, take a look at the new trailer for Necromunda: Hired Gun. This first-person shooter will make you feel like you’re slugging it out with the worst of the worst.

Aeronautica Imperialis

Finally, look to the skies! It can’t be, can it?

It’s not just Thunderhawks that are inbound though, there’s a whole new Aeronautica Imperialis boxed set – Wrath of Angels. After Wings of Vengeance, featuring Orks and the Imperial Navy, and Skies of Fire, which introduced the T’au Air Caste, this set is all about Aeldari Craftworlds versus Space Marines.

Games Workshop Warhammer Fest Online Day 3 – Black Library 16 Games Workshop Warhammer Fest Online Day 3 – Black Library 22

As you might expect, the Aeldari aircraft are sleek machines as befits their speed and manoeuvrability.

Games Workshop Warhammer Fest Online Day 3 – Black Library 17 Games Workshop Warhammer Fest Online Day 3 – Black Library 18

Joining them in fast-paced, brutal, air-to-air dogfighting are the flying vehicles of the Adeptus Astartes. While they might not be as mobile as their foes, they’re certainly durable and deadly.

We can’t leave you with just that tease of a plastic Thunderhawk. Check out the iconic Space Marines aircraft.

Games Workshop Warhammer Fest Online Day 3 – Black Library 21

Finally, to round off today’s Warhammer Fest Online, we have an exclusive interview with Andy Hoare, one of the lead designers in the boxed games studio, where he fills us in on House of Shadow and Wrath of Angels. Join us as we get the inside scoop.

We’ll have more details on all of these amazing reveals as we get closer to their releases.

Paint Like a Pro With the New STC Range of Synthetic Brushes

The Citadel brush range has been a stalwart companion of hobbyists for many years, giving painters the world over specially designed tools to get their models looking as good as they can be. Now, the range is expanding.

The first thing you’ve no doubt noticed is the distinct, all-white colour scheme to set them apart from our regular brush range – you’ll never mistake which one you’re reaching for in your Citadel Paint Box. These brushes are more than just a sleek colour scheme, though.

By using carefully designed, totally synthetic bristles, the Citadel Colour STC Range offers a different painting experience to the regular range of Citadel brushes. The synthetic fibres have a noticeable springiness with balanced stiffness and distinct snapback, making them excellent candidates for drybrushing and highlighting raised edges.

The brushes with rounded tips have been designed to keep their profile for longer even when used frequently, and the straight-edged brushes are specially made to help prevent curling at the end of the bristles, keeping your painting accurate and sharp.

The Citadel Colour STC Range is coming soon, so keep an eye out for more information on when you’ll see their distinctive white colour scheme on shelves near you. In the meantime, up your painting game with the Citadel Artificer Layer brushes, made to produce results you never knew you were capable of.

Doch sind Thunderhawks v.a.

      • Was soll das geblöcke?

Beides zu tragen macht also eigentlich keinen Sinn.
