GW: Warhammer Day 2021 Previews

Im Rahmen des Warhammer Day 2021 zeigen Games Workshop eine Reihe von Previews mit neuen Modellen für Warhammer 40.000, Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Blood Bowl und Horus Heresy.

Warhammer Day 2021

Take the Fight to Terra Itself With the Next Battle Box and Codexes for Warhammer 40,000

Welcome to Warhammer Day, where we’re celebrating the hobby we all love with a packed day of announcements for your favourite games. First up, we’re voyaging into the grim darkness of the far future, where two brand-new codexes are on their way for two factions that could hardly be more different.

But before we get to that, there’s also a battle box that finds a deadly infestation blooming in the most unthinkable of places: Holy Terra itself.

Shadow Throne

The Genestealer Cults have found their way to the heart of the Imperium, and when such a threat to the Emperor rears its head the elite Adeptus Custodes will stop at nothing to stamp it out.

Games Workshop Warhammer Day 2021 – Take The Fight To Terra Itself With The Next Battle Box And Codexes For Warhammer 40,000 1

Peerless transhuman warriors contend with a cunning, capable, and prepared enemy in Warhammer 40,000: Shadow Throne.

Games Workshop Warhammer Day 2021 – Take The Fight To Terra Itself With The Next Battle Box And Codexes For Warhammer 40,000 2

Leading the charge into the Cult’s lair is Aristothes Carvellan, a Blade Champion whose prodigious swordsmanship puts even his fellow Custodes to shame. Blade Champions are a new type of Character for Adeptus Custodes armies, who can switch between three different fighting styles to chop up any opponent, be they a colossal monster, a skilled leader, or a swarm of lesser creatures.

Games Workshop Warhammer Day 2021 – Take The Fight To Terra Itself With The Next Battle Box And Codexes For Warhammer 40,000 3

To face such powerful warriors is to court death, and the Cult of the Pauper Prince knows that well. They turn to a hero of the Star Children’s revolution, Mersea Thrayk, a Reductus Saboteur who seeds the battlefield with explosives before battle is joined. Even the mighty Adeptus Custodes are hard-pressed to survive a mining charge detonating under their feet.

Games Workshop Warhammer Day 2021 – Take The Fight To Terra Itself With The Next Battle Box And Codexes For Warhammer 40,000 4

The 32-page Shadow Throne book included in the box contains exciting narrative missions to play out the Unthinkable War. The Imperium’s response is uncharacteristically swift and coordinated, which says a lot about how dire a threat these Cults pose.

Games Workshop Warhammer Day 2021 – Take The Fight To Terra Itself With The Next Battle Box And Codexes For Warhammer 40,000 5

Separately to the Shadow Throne box, codexes for both the Adeptus Custodes and the Genestealer Cults will also be released later this year, bringing new features to each faction.

Codex: Adeptus Custodes

The Shadow Throne box also contains Sisters of Silence. That’s because the new Codex: Adeptus Custodes combines the Talons of the Emperor into one book, adding the psyker-killing power of the Silent Sisters to your Shield Host.

Games Workshop Warhammer Day 2021 – Take The Fight To Terra Itself With The Next Battle Box And Codexes For Warhammer 40,000 6

In addition to revamped Stratagems, Relics, and Warlord Traits, the codex contains Crusade rules for exercising ultimate authority over the Imperium, choosing your own objectives and earning powerful bonuses upon victory. Beware, however, as failure means suffering dishonour, which can call the command of your Shield-Captain into question.

Codex: Genestealer Cults

Offer praise to the Many-armed Emperor, dear child, for he has delivered a tome full of new and updated rules for the Genestealer Cults. Infiltrate a planet’s key institutions and ready your cult for the Day of Ascension with thematic Crusade rules, and ambush your prey with updated units and new abilities.

Games Workshop Warhammer Day 2021 – Take The Fight To Terra Itself With The Next Battle Box And Codexes For Warhammer 40,000 8

To prosper in the underbellies of the most heavily fortified planets in the galaxy, Cults need a few new tricks. Already masters of sneaking into forward positions before a battle, they are now able to leap from hiding and catch their targets in a lethal crossfire, rewarding careful positioning with bonuses to shooting attacks.

Warhammer Day 2021 – Nurgle Gets Ready To Drown the Mortal Realms in Filth With the New Maggotkin Battletome

Happy Warhammer Day! If you missed the memo, we’ll be bringing you some exciting news and updates about your favourite games today. Follow along on the Warhammer TV Twitch channel, or catch up later here on the Warhammer Community website.

Now that you’ve seen the next boxed set for Warhammer 40,000, it’s time to turn our attention to the Mortal Realms. If you’re feeling at all squeamish, you may want to avert your gaze now. Nurgle’s time has come, at long last, and the Maggotkin have claimed the next battletome release for their own.

The followers of the Lord of Pestilence have waited a long time for this update, but in return they’re getting some incredibly fun and thematic new abilities. The grossest is the Diseased battle trait, an army-wide ability that withers any enemy units that are nearby or that have taken damage from Diseased Weapons.

Games Workshop Warhammer Day 2021 – Nurgle Gets Ready To Drown The Mortal Realms In Filth With The New Maggotkin Battletome 1

Facing off against an army dedicated to Nurgle should be daunting, and now it feels that way. The various plagues and contagions have more impact, and the troops are just as hard to put down. Even more so if you bring along their most powerful daemon, the so-called Loci of Fecundity.

Games Workshop Warhammer Day 2021 – Nurgle Gets Ready To Drown The Mortal Realms In Filth With The New Maggotkin Battletome 2

As with all the new battletome updates for this edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar, you’ll find an extensive set of Path to Glory rules that represent the unusual goals of Maggotkin armies. They’re more concerned with spreading the ‘gifts’ of their patron god than conquering territory in the traditional sense. How kind of them.

While the current range of Maggotkin models is both amazing and disgusting, this update also brings along a brand new miniature that’s a feast for the eyes… if not the nose.

Games Workshop Warhammer Day 2021 – Nurgle Gets Ready To Drown The Mortal Realms In Filth With The New Maggotkin Battletome 3

This sorcerer, an amalgam of human and fly, is a truly unsettling masterpiece of Nurgle’s dubious generosity. It’s also a brilliant update of a classic model, and it fits in perfectly with the existing Nurgle range.

Mark your calendars for December, when we expect the new battletome to arrive – just in time for Grandfather Nurgle to spread his sickening gifts to the world. Keep a single, rheumy eye peeled for more news about the Maggotkin, and we’ll keep you informed.

Warhammer Day 2021 – Slaughter Echoes Across the Eightpoints In Warcry: Red Harvest

Fans of brutal brawls in the nexus of the Mortal Realms rejoice. Everyone’s favourite cultist duff-up returns with Warcry: Red Harvest – a box bursting with new miniatures, fresh terrain, and unbeatable rules for the most gore-slicked skirmish game in the Age of Sigmar.

Red Harvest is set in the shadow of the Varanspire, Archaon’s monolithic fortress at the centre of the eight Mortal Realms. In the tormented plains that stretch out around it, the realmstone varanite is mined by hordes of enslaved mortals.

Games Workshop Warhammer Day 2021 – Slaughter Echoes Across The Eightpoints In Warcry Red Harvest 1

This mutagenic substance is so volatile that just one touch can give you an extra arm or head, or simply turn you into a full-blown Chaos Spawn.

Games Workshop Warhammer Day 2021 – Slaughter Echoes Across The Eightpoints In Warcry Red Harvest 2

Coincidentally, that’s precisely what the Tarantulos Brood are after – the ability to grow extra limbs to ascend to the form of the monstrous arachnids they worship.

Not content with wearing many-eyed masks and webbed clothes, these obsessive cultists use varanite to grow spidery mutations to scuttle around the Bloodwind Spoil and weave a web of domination.

Arrayed against them are the muscular, leather-strapped Darkoath Savagers, who feel neither fear nor temperature.

Like any good Chaos worshipper, the Darkoath Savagers respect might above all else. With rippling muscles, giant weapons, and more loincloths than you can shake a runestone at, they wade into battle seeking glory – either in victory or by a suitably worthy death.

These two warbands clash over abandoned varanite mines, where the Tarantulos Brood hunt for the remaining deposits of realmstone – while the Darkoath Savagers presumably just fancy a good scrap.

Games Workshop Warhammer Day 2021 – Slaughter Echoes Across The Eightpoints In Warcry Red Harvest 13

These mines are the perfect terrain to battle over, with sluices for transporting varanite crisscrossing with scaffolding, gangways, and strange machinery to fight on and around.

Games Workshop Warhammer Day 2021 – Slaughter Echoes Across The Eightpoints In Warcry Red Harvest 14

If you cast your mind back to Broken Realms, you’ll remember Morathi had even sent her Shadowstalkers to scout out these mines to find a big enough seam to aid her apotheosis.

That’s how important this stuff is, and that’s why warbands are drawn to it like flies. There is a whole host of background in the box, as well as rules for empowering your warband with varanite and covering what happens when you fall into a sluice full of the stuff. Spoiler – it isn’t a good time.

Games Workshop Warhammer Day 2021 – Slaughter Echoes Across The Eightpoints In Warcry Red Harvest 15

Then there’s a new double-sided gaming board, new tokens, dice, and Warcry cards. It’s both a game in a box and a super-sized expansion for existing Warcry fans – it contains everything a new player needs. And when the time comes to expand your experience, you can further explore the Bloodwind Spoil with the Warcry Core Book, and other expansions.

Warhammer Day 2021 – Dungeon Bowl Is Back and It’s Bloodier Than Ever

There’s never a dull moment in the worlds of Warhammer – and this Warhammer Day has made that more apparent than ever. We’ve seen exciting updates for Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar, so it’s now time to get super serious about one of the silliest games in all of Warhammer – Blood Bowl.

Fans of American Football* know that college rivalries can make it feel like a whole different game, but in the twisted reality of Blood Bowl, “college” has a completely different meaning.

Dungeon Bowl is back – BIG TIME. Fans of a certain vintage will fondly recall this madcap game of subterranean sports mayhem, but if you’re not familiar, Dungeon Bowl is Blood Bowl played in cavernous, winding dungeons, arranged by the eight Colleges of Magic. The wizards put mixed teams together for their own amusement, and make the rules – and magical traps – as chaotic as possible for maximum carnage.

Games Workshop Warhammer Day 2021 – Dungeon Bowl Is Back And It’s Bloodier Than Ever 1

The first challenge? Your players have to explore the dungeon and rummage through treasure chests until they find the ball. Once one of the teams has it, they only need to score one touchdown to win the game. But that’s not as easy as it sounds…

Games Workshop Warhammer Day 2021 – Dungeon Bowl Is Back And It’s Bloodier Than Ever 2

Every team is hand-picked by a wizard from one of the eight colleges, so you’ll see all manner of races and positions playing for both sides. There’s no pitch, no line of scrimmage, and few rules. You WILL find loads of portals, however, as well as tricksy traps and challenges. There MIGHT be a dragon…

Games Workshop Warhammer Day 2021 – Dungeon Bowl Is Back And It’s Bloodier Than Ever 3 Games Workshop Warhammer Day 2021 – Dungeon Bowl Is Back And It’s Bloodier Than Ever 4

Fans from back in the day will go wild for this edition – it sports a modern look, stunning board tiles, and 3D components like the chests and portals, plus all the tweaks and updates that make Blood Bowl faster and better than ever before. If you’re looking to mix things up, you can put your existing teams together in new ways and get more out of your regular Blood Bowl nights.

Warhammer Day 2021 – X Marks the Spot for this New Warhammer Underworlds Warband

We’ve seen some incredible reveals during the Warhammer Day Online Preview, including a new Warhammer 40,000 battlebox, the Maggotkin of Nurgle battletome, and expansions for Warcry and Blood Bowl. Now it’s time to run out the colours for the next Warhammer Underworlds warband.

Blackpowder’s Buccaneers are the first warband expansion for this season of Warhammer Underworlds, following the Harrowdeep boxed set. They consist of an ogre pirate and his gnobblar crew – and being a pirate, he of course has to have a menagerie, so he’s also accompanied into battle by his pet parrot and a monkey. Not just any monkey, you understand – Mange is a monkey with a terrible attitude and a knife that’s perfect for cracking open crab shells.

They’ll be released early next year, and as with all new warbands, they’ll have their own complete deck ready to jump straight into the new Rivals format.

Warhammer Day 2021 – The Warhawk of Chogoris Gets an Incredible Model At Last

Our Warhammer Day coverage continues with a hotly anticipated reveal from the Age of Darkness.

That’s right, the last Primarch* is finally getting a miniature – and what a miniature it is too! Behold the mighty Warhawk of Chogoris in all his grandeur.

Games Workshop Warhammer Day 2021 – The Warhawk Of Chogoris Gets An Incredible Model At Last 1

Jaghatai Khan, the Primarch of the White Scars is fiercely proud and something of an outsider among his brothers, though as much by his own choice as the neglect of his kin. He revels in the hunt, but it’s once he’s run his prey to ground that Jaghatai excels – his lightning swiftness with a blade is such that many consider him the most skilled swordsman of all the Primarchs.

  • Jede gezeigte neue Mini gefällt mir sehr gut.

      • Ja was soll schlimm an Transvestiten sein? Überhaupt nix jeder kann machen was er will.
