GW: GenCon 2021 Previews Teil 2

Gen Con – The Skull-tribe Slaughterers Will Put the Blood into Blood Bowl

Games Workshop Gen Con – The Skull Tribe Slaughterers Will Put The Blood Into Blood Bowl 1

Day 2 of Gen Con continues apace, and as has become tradition, those lucky enough to attend have enjoyed some cracking reveals. So far, we’ve seen Harrowdeep – the next season of Warhammer Underworlds – and a new boxed set for Kill Team, but let’s switch to the gridiron and welcome a Blood Bowl team to the tabletop for the first time.

Behold the dread Skull-tribe Slaughterers…

Games Workshop Gen Con – The Skull Tribe Slaughterers Will Put The Blood Into Blood Bowl 2

If you thought it would be impossible for a team to be EVEN MORE VIOLENT than the Norse, the Orcs, or the Black Orcs, think again. The Skull-tribe Slaughterers are devotees of Khorne, which means a whole new level of brutality. Not just any old brutality, mind – the kind that gives even the most hardened apothecary nightmares.

They’ll soon be unleashed to spill Blood for the Blood God all over the Astrogranite for the glory of their apocalyptically apoplectic* patron. The upcoming set includes the following 12 players:

6x Bloodborn Marauder Linemen: The team’s psychotically aggressive core players

Games Workshop Gen Con – The Skull Tribe Slaughterers Will Put The Blood Into Blood Bowl 3

4x Bloodseekers: Berserk champions of the Blood God who can smash their way through any line

Games Workshop Gen Con – The Skull Tribe Slaughterers Will Put The Blood Into Blood Bowl 4

2x Khorngor: Ferocious Bestigors who bear the mark of Khorne – and an belligerent streak a mile wide

This team of bloodthirsty warriors players will be coming to a pitch near you soon, so keep an eye out for more news from Warhammer Community, and sign up to our newsletter for all the latest info.

Gen Con – A New Gang of Outlaws Revealed for Necromunda

Games Workshop Gen Con – A New Gang Of Outlaws Revealed For Necromunda 1

We’ve seen some big reveals from Gen Con so far, including the new season of Warhammer Underworlds, a boxed set for Kill Team, and a Khorne team for Blood Bowl. Now, it’s time for the underhive to take centre stage with new rules and models for Necromunda.

Over the last couple of years, we’ve delved even deeper than ever before into the dark corners of Necromunda with new books for the six Gang Houses.*

Now it’s time to meet the waifs and strays from outside of the House system. These are the dregs from the wrong end of town, and they’re perfect if you’ve ever dreamed of commanding a gang of outlaws and mercenaries.**

This is a really fun set of thematic miniatures that capture the essence of a gang of ne’er-do-wells from the wrong side of the tracks.

Accompanying these fantastic new models is the Book of the Outcast – the ultimate guide to the pariahs, exiles, and vagabonds of the underhive.

Along with rules for using an Outcasts gang in Necromunda, including scenarios, tactics, and more, the book includes lore that explores the place of this nefarious subset in the Necromundan hierarchy.

The Outcasts couldn’t be left homeless, though – also coming out is the Underhive Market.

This stunning terrain kit is perfect for narrative battles. Subjugators breaking up a black market trading post? Corpse Grinder Cultists looking to open up a meat market? The possibilities are almost endless with this modular kit, which can be used with all of the existing Zone Mortalis terrain. Fans of rare antiquities will be pleased to know that you also get two mung vases in the Underhive Market set – but are they real or counterfeit?

Keep an eye on the Warhammer Community website for all the latest on these releases as we get closer to their pre-order date, and head over to the Necromunda Facebook page to let us know which model from the new Outcasts Gang is your favourite.

And after some truly epic reveals over the past few days, we have one final tease for you. Join us later to see if you can figure out what’s creeping around the Eightpoints.

* House of Chains for Goliath, House of Blades for Escher, House of Iron for Orlock, House of Artifice for Van Saar, House of Faith for Cawdor, and House of Shadow for Delaque.

** Be careful though, the Palanite Enforcers might have a thing or two to say about that.

Gen Con – The Black Templars Are Back With a Crusading New Army Set

Alongside the next season of Warhammer Underworlds, a never-before-seen Blood Bowl team, and a splendid expansion for Kill Team, we’ve given a sneak peek of the new Black Templars boxed set to the lucky attendees at this year’s Gen Con, but it’s only fair that everyone else gets a look.

Purgation is back on the menu this October when the Black Templars return to the warpath with fantastic new miniatures and an exclusive limited edition codex supplement.

The Army Set contains 13 miniatures, including 12 new Black Templars – a Marshal, the Emperor’s Champion, and a 10-man Primaris Crusader Squad with a ton of build options. You’ll also get a Redemptor Dreadnought, for targets which require a more forceful elimination.

The new Marshal comes with a couple of options, including two choices of head and a selection of weapons. There’s also an optional purity seal, but can you really imagine setting off on a crusade without sufficient sanctification?

You may well be wondering who the skeleton belongs to and why they’re up there on the Marshal’s backpack. We’ll tell you what he told us – “Do not question the Emperor’s holy will, heretic”. We hope that clears things up.

It will not have escaped your notice that the Crusader Squad is mixed. Those lads with the snazzy pudding-basin haircuts aren’t Scouts, though – they’re Primaris Neophytes, raw recruits who act as squires to the Initiates they accompany into battle. The kit also allows you to assemble a veteran Sword Brother to oversee the squad.

Crucially, this set is the first place aspiring High Marshals can clench their gauntleted fists around the new Codex Supplement: Black Templars. This launch edition book comes with an exclusive cover featuring iconic John Blanche artwork from aaaaaaaaall the way back in the third edition of Warhammer 40,000.

This 80-page codex supplement explains the history and background of the Emperor’s premier crusaders, as well as their (especially non-codex-compliant) command hierarchy and operational strength.

You better believe that it’s also bursting with rules, including bespoke Detachment Abilities, Stratagems, Warlord Traits, Litanies of the Devout, Relics, Crusade rules, special Characters, and six unique unit Datasheets.

The set also contains 28 datacards and a massive transfer sheet with 226 decals depicting the Black Templars’ Chapter iconography and heraldry. In short, it’s enough for you not to have to suffer the alien, the heretic, or the witch to live for a single moment longer.

This isn’t the last of the Black Templars, either. Remember a certain pyreblaster-toting Space Marine? Well, he’s got friends, and they’ll be joining the crusade towards the end of the year.

(siehe oben…)
