Passend zum 75. Jahrestag des D-Day veröffentlicht Sarissa den DUKW.
Sarissa – DUKW 28mm – 14,00 EUR
Described as a „lorry that swims“ and the „backbone of Normandy“ the DUKW or „ducks“, as it was affectionately known, were used to transport cargo from ship to shore.
The DUKW is a six-wheel-drive amphibious modification of the 2 ¹⁄₂-ton CCKW trucks used by the U.S. military during World War II and the Korean War.
The name which is rather fitting was derived from manufacturer’s code for a type of military wheeled amphibious landing-craft (D means 1942, U means utility (amphibious), K means all-wheel drive, W means 2 powered rear axles). This was the fasted ‚truck‘ at the time with a max speed of 50mph.
The kit can be assembled so the wheels can be removed for water base use and replaced when on land.
Supplied unassembled and unpainted in kit form with full instructions.
Any models or accessories shown for scale purposes are not included.
