NEW ACW Cavalry!
These cavalry fill in the gaps for the dismounted versions of the mounted cavalry already available. There are dismounted early war Confederate cavalry in shirts along with command and horse holder, Union dismounted cavalry in sack coats along with a command and their horse holder. Confederates fighting in civilian clothing or part civilian clothing seem to have been not uncommon, so starting with the cavalry we have mounted, dismounted and horse holder for these too. These could of course be used as Bushwhackers and guerrillas mixed with those in shirtsleeves and normal confederate cavalry. As you might have noticed, at long last there are dismounted commands for the regular Union and Confederates too!American Civil War 1861-65

Hm. Hat wer eine Quelle für Kavallerie in sack coats? Noch nie von gelesen. War das spät im Krieg?
Nein, schon durchgehend. Der Sackcoat war bei der Kavallerie wie auch bei der Infanterie stets die Bekleidung für’s Lager, Off-Duty und ähnlichen „nicht offiziellen“ Anlässen. Die Infanterie sollteauch nicht einen Sack coat sondern den viel längeren Rock (Frock coat) tragen.
Da aber das amerikanische Militär nicht so funktionierte wie das in Europa, sah man manche Sachen lockerer. Viele trugen anstelle der großen Uniform nur den viel bequemeren Sackcoat und eine Forage Cap (Lagermütze) oder ein Kepi anstelle des vorgeschriebenen langen Rocks und Hardee Hats. Erlasse von höchster Ebene im Feld zeigen uns immer wieder, wie man auf diese Missstände verwies.
Zusätzlich kommt noch hinzu, dass die Union in den ersten zwei Kriegsjahren niemals mit der Uniformen Produktion nach kam. Deswegen wurden viele Einheiten auch nie mit dem Frock coat sondern nur mit dem Sack coat beliefert.
Ebenfalls kannst du einige Miliz Kavallerie Regimenter vom Süden wie auch im Norden mit dem Sack Coat darstellen. Da gab es einige. Vor allem die von North Carolina.
Interessant. Ich hab bisher bei den üblichen Quellen immer nur Kavallerie in den kurzen Jacken gesehen. Aber klar, bei den Freiwilligenverbänden war das mit dem Elitären vielleicht auch nicht so verbreitet, wie der Hang zur Mündigkeit und Individualität der US-Amerikaner.
