As keen gamers my friends and I really wanted some good cobblestone roads which would work for a range of periods and genres. We couldn’t find any which we really liked so I set around making some. I cut and sculpted around 3000 individual cobbles and laid them so they looked like the few examples of old real cobblestones I had managed to find for research and this is the result.

There’s three straight sections, two curves and a Y-Junction, but no T-junctions, the idea being you can set any two pieces at right angles to create the exact junction you want exactly where you want it.

Below you can see the detail of all the resin cast sections Apologies for overlaying the word „sample“ over them, it’s to prevent folk simply downloading the images, printing them out and using my work for free.

The Roads in use

The masters have been made, cast and tested both for adding to gaming boards, glued down, and as stand alone pieces and have worked well. The pieces will be made slightly thicker than the prototypes, but that’s simple and will be done as this Kickstarter runs.

Here’s an example of them being used on terrain boards for Salute 2016…

…and here as stand-alone road sections.

All testers were very happy with them. If you’re lucky enough to be going to Salute 2017 you can see some in use at table GG12 in a WW2 game hosted by my local gaming group The Gamers in Thanet Society.

Pricing and choosing

The base price is £7 an item, getting cheaper the more you pledge for. The long straight and the Y-Junction count as one item each, while the smaller pieces come in pairs. For the short straights you can pick two of the same, to allow for periods prior to manhole covers.

Stretch Goal

Honestly I’m not convinced about stretch goals but I thought I’d give it a go. This one is exclusive to the Kickstarter, would count as one item, and compliments the roads rather well.

Meine bevorzugte Methode wäre : Styrodurscheiben zuschneiden, Muster einritzen, anmalen.
