HATE: Previews und Infos

Cool Mini of Not und Guillotine Games haben erste Infos zum kommenden Kickstarter zu HATE bekannt gegeben.

Hervorhebungen durch Brückenkopf Online.

From the minds that brought you Zombicide and Massive Darkness, comes an all new world of violence and survival unlike any you’ve seen before: HATE, inspired by Adrian Smith’s Chronicles of HATE graphic novel series. Guillotine Games and CMON’s new game comes exclusively to Kickstarter on January 16, 2018 at 3:00PM EST.

CMoN Hate Kickstarter Preview 1

HATE is our first Kickstarter exclusive project, so we’ve put together a FAQ to help our fans and retailers.

What is HATE?

Read our game overview here.  Follow us on Facebook for more previews as we get closer to launch.

If HATE is Kickstarter exclusive, does that mean I can’t buy it anywhere else?

Yes and no. HATE will not be regularly available through traditional channels after the Kickstarter; however, it is available as normal to our CMON Play retail members (and thus their customers) through the Kickstarter retail pledge; and it will be available at conventions CMON attends while supplies last.

I’m a retailer, and want to carry HATE at my store. How can I do that?

In early 2017, CMON launched the CMON Play program in North America, allowing members and their customers to take part in our Kickstarters by offering them full access to the campaign, including all Kickstarter exclusives and add-ons. The HATE Kickstarter campaign will be no different.

If you want to carry HATE in your store but you’re not a CMON Play member, please read more about the program here or contact us at cmonplay@cmon.com for more information.

When the HATE Kickstarter launches January 16 at 3:00PM EST, we will begin accepting retail pledges through a special email address opened at that time and announced on www.cmon.com/play

Will HATE be available in multiple languages?

No. HATE will only be offered in English through the Kickstarter campaign. However, like CMON’s other campaigns, anyone in the world can support the campaign and receive the game.

Why is HATE Kickstarter exclusive?

Our ultimate goal with HATE is to offer a game that remains as true as possible to the source material: Adrian Smith’s Chronicles of HATE graphic novels. As you might guess from the name, the world of HATE is not a happy or peaceful one and includes a lot of mature content. We know not everyone will find this type of experience pleasant, so instead of stripping out the atmosphere, we are going direct to those who will want this type of gaming experience, including our retailers through CMON Play.

In our world, hate was an emotion to avoid. It distracted us, tied us up, and corrupted our souls. But our world is over. It was destroyed through the actions of man. The seas boiled, the forests died, and the Earth began to rot. Few survived, and for those that did, life had changed forever. The mighty rose and quickly subjugated the weak, turning them into servants. Tribes were formed and war raged across the land. There weren’t enough resources to go around, and to live, others had to die. In battles, there was no truce, no surrender. To survive, you needed to hate.

CMoN Hate Kickstarter Preview 2

In HATE, players control their Tribe in an ongoing effort to survive and thrive in the new world order. A Tribe is made up of different members like Warriors, Shamans, and Princes. Each has a role to play, and as the game develops, so too will their skills.

In this world, conflict cannot be avoided, and Tribes Clash in the glory of battle again and again. While a full campaign, or Chronicle, of HATE can involve multiple different Tribes, each Clash will be a one-on-one bloodbath. The results of each Clash will carry forward and impact future encounters. Only after every Clash has been played will an ultimate winner be declared for that Chronicle.

In the heat of battle, it’s possible for Tribe members to fall. They will lie unconscious on the battlefield until the end of the Clash. That is, unless an opponent is able to drag their body back to their Village. Those unfortunate souls will meet a gruesome fate. While away in battle, the fires of the Village’s Oven are kept warm, and the blades of the Torture Chamber are kept sharp. Captured foes can be fed to the Ovens to produce resources, or the Torture Chamber to produce Hate. This world is brutal, and sometimes death on the battlefield is a kinder fate. For one Tribe, it signals the permanent loss of a character. But the other will feed on their misfortune, sometimes literally. That Tribe member will be forever lost, and while songs will be written of their great exploits, the player will be forced to start a new member from scratch.

Clashes each have a set of Missions that the Tribes must accomplish. As soon as one Tribe completes all the Missions, the Clash ends, but the impact of the battle remains. Sometimes, the effects of war manifest in developed skills, better equipping your Tribe members for further conflicts. But the effects of war are not always so positive.

The brutal action in the game is driven by the Tribe decks. These cards influence combat in the game and allow players to unleash maneuvers like Chest Kicks or Dodge and Flee. Each deck is made up of cards that are standard to all Tribes, along with ones that are unique to their own. How a Tribe’s deck is constructed will influence the strategies they employ in a Clash. Combat is resolved based on the roll of the dice, but Tribe cards can mitigate the results. Players are also able to draw combat advantages from heir home base.

Each Tribe resides in a Village. It is a safe haven, where they are protected from the threat of attack, but Villages are certainly not free of violence. Throughout the course of a game, players will acquire Hate through various actions. It can be used to unlock special skills for their Tribe members, or to upgrade their Village. The skills of their Tribe members develop between Clashes, and they retain those new abilities going forward. However, while the experience of war can help develop skills, it also leaves a mark on the participants. Scars can develop that are more than skin deep, and will affect a warrior’s level of skills.

This is not the world we once knew. Diplomacy, kindness, and understanding have been replaced with something much darker. Conflict ravages the land, entrapping everything it touches. War is not pretty, nor kind. And in the new world there is only war, death, and hate. To survive, to win, you must embrace it, or die.

Follow the HATE Facebook page for regular updates, including art, miniatures, and articles.

This new world favors those that revel in the glory of war. To survive, a Tribe must have members that won’t shy away from conflict. They need Warriors to enter the battlefield and fight with a wild abandon.

In HATE: The Board Game, you’ll need to rely on your Warriors during Clashes. They can earn bonuses based on their positions on the battlefield. Their strength and skill in battle can be developed over time, but their bloodlust is something innate that can’t be taught. They’ll need it if your Tribe is to win. Today, we get our first look at one of the Warriors from the Um’Gra Tribe.

In every army, there is one soldier who has seen the most war, fought the most battles, and caused the most death. Regardless of their physical stature, they tower over their forces and plunge into conflict with the reckless abandon of a creature possessed. These are the Champion Warriors of a Tribe. They can fell a man with a single swing of their sword, and chill foes’ blood with a mere glance. This new world was not made for the weak, or the scared, but it was made for these gods of the battlefield.

The Champion Warrior of a Tribe attracts damage. In fact, they thrive on it. When there’s a challenge in front of them, they’ll embrace it with a lust for blood that goes unrivaled. Today we get our first look at the Champion Warrior of the Um’Gra Tribe.

HATE: The Board Game is coming to Kickstarter on January 16 at 3PM EST. These models are resin, the finals will be plastic.

  • Tja, also geht cmon jetzt auch den KS only Weg.

Monolith macht’s ja genau so.

      • Was an Chronicles of Hate könnte denn bitte obskur sein???

        https://www.duden.de/rechtschreibung/obskur

Mal gucken was da noch an Infos kommt.
