  • Es wäre mal interessant zu hören ob eine weitere Übersetzung der Bücher geplant ist und wenn ja wann.

    • Auf der letzten Seite des deutschen Frostgrave Buches steht bereits die Ankündigung das die Übersetzung von Thaw of the Lich Lord in Arbeit ist.

  • Der hübsch aufgemachte Wizard Sheet als Gimmick ist zwar eine nette Idee, aber erfahrungsgemäß herrscht bei jedem hier nach spätestens 3,4 Matches ein derart totaler Radier- und Kritzelkrieg auf den Zetteln, dass der bei mir wohl ins Regal käme und viel zu schade zum benutzen wäre. 😀

    • Gnolle sind Hyänen und nebenbei was älter als beispielsweise Skaven. Aber Bären wären auch super!

      • Nö. Skaven sind nur besser aus einer Fritz Leiber Story geklaut, und keine GW Erfindung. Was aber nicht heißt, dass die Gnolle nicht super sind.

      • Also, das könnte man jetzt auch ziemlich anders sehen, wenn man Lord Dunsanys ursprüngliche Gnoles berücksichtigt. Dazu bräuchte man aber die Veröffentlichungsdaten der jeweiligen Werke – und wissen, in welche die relevanten Veröffentlichungen sind. Allein die Lebensdaten legen es jedoch schon sehr nahe…

        So oder so ist seine Schöpfung erst viel später durch die Amis hyänisiert woden.

      • …ja das stimmt wohl. Die nicht-Hyäenen Gnolle sind dann älter aber eben auch noch keine Hyänenmenschen. 🙂

        Kann man die leider doch etwas statischeren Gnolle wohl dem viel dynamischeren Bild annähern, wenn man sie mit ner Box Mantic/GW-Ghoulen kitbashed?

    • Auch, wenn die illustrierten Gnolle sehr ordentlich und hyänig* aussehen, die Redner kommen dort leider nicht ran und ich empfinde es ebenso wie Momma.

      Obwohl ich im Fantasy-/SciFi-Bereich etwas freiere, eigenständigere Kreaturen-Looks viel interessanter – und passender – finde als allzu direkte Anlehnung an tierische Vorlagen, schätze ich auch den retro-klassischen Ansatz. Dennoch kann man sehr unterschiedlich fahren innerhalb dieser sehr groben Richtungsangabe. Das veranschaulichen die Otherworld-Gnolle regelrecht dramatisch, finde ich.
