“Orkses is never beaten in battle. If we win we win, if we die we die so it don’t count as beat. If we runs for it we don’t die neither, so we can always come back for anuvver go, see!”
–Anonymous Ork

The final reinforcements of the Warlord cycle have arrived in the Traxis sector. Complete the Warlord cycle and bring powerful new forces to your armies with Descendants of Isha, now available for Warhammer 40,000: Conquest at your local retailer and online through our webstore!

With the introduction of Urien Rakarth, a Dark Eldar Haemonculus, and the Phoenix LordBaharroth, every faction now has two potent warlords to lead their forces. This War Pack also continues the themes of the Warlord cycle by putting more emphasis on your warlord and how you use him on the field of battle. You’ll find new options for commanding your armies with two new warlords and their eight-card signature squads, alongside three copies each of fourteen other cards to aid the other factions. Within this arsenal of new armies and tactics, you’ll discover a deadly new Space Wolves tank, new Chaos cards to serve Slaanesh, and a neutral Inquisitor that can join any side in the battle for the Traxis sector’s planets.

Although Eldar and Dark Eldar share the spotlight in this expansion, the new cards in Descendants of Isha offer benefits for any warlords. Today, we’ll look at the Ork cards included in this War Pack and how they benefit the Ork forces in the Traxis sector!

Ere We Go

The Orks are well known for their love of battlefield carnage and war. When they launch a devastating Waaagh!, they rampage across the galaxy, destroying all who stand in their way. Even if they fall in battle, you can be sure the Orks will even perish while causing maximum damage to their enemies. You can bring some of this Orkish mentality to your games of Warhammer 40,000: Conquest with Made Ta Fight (Descendants of Isha, 125).

Made Ta Fight reads, “Interrupt: When an army unit you control leaves play from a planet with your warlord, deal damage equal to that army unit’s printed ATK value to a target non-warlord unit at the same planet.” No matter which Ork warlord you play, you can be certain that some of your army units will die in battle. With Made Ta Fight, you guarantee that any army unit can essentially make one more attack before it is destroyed. By using units like the Goff Nob (Core Set, 59) or the Attack Squig Herd (The Scourge, 33), you can deal a massive amount of damage with Made Ta Fight.

Even when you’re in command of a ravaging mob of Orks, you may sometimes run against an army unit that threatens to halt your advance. At those times, you can call on the Orks’ unstable psyker powers and play Squiggify (Descendants of Isha, 126). This event invites you to target any non-Vehicle army unit. That unit’s ATK is set to one, its text box is blanked, and it gains the Squig trait until the end of the phase. Whether you use Squiggify to quickly dispatch an Honored Librarian (Core Set, 14) or neutralize Starbane’s Council (Core Set, 123), it gives you an easy route to bypass troublesome units that stand in your way. Even if you don’t use Squiggify for its printed effect, it also bears two shield icons, allowing you to prevent damage when it matters most.

The final Ork card in this expansion is the Big Shoota Battlewagon (Descendants of Isha, 124), and it offers a new source of reinforcements for any Ork warband. With four ATK and four HP, this card is already a reasonable option for inclusion in an army led by Nazdreg (Core Set, 3), because he grants Brutal to all other units at his planet. Furthermore, the Big Shoota Battlewagon’s Interrupt ability invites you to use it in a Snotling-focused deck led by Old Zogwort (Zogwort’s Curse, 67). When the Big Shoota Battlewagon is destroyed, you can place four Snotling tokens into play at that planet. Combined with a card like Launch Da Snots (Zogwort’s Curse, 71), your Snotlings may turn the tide of battle in your favour. You might even use Made Ta Fight to allow the Big Shoota Battlewagon to make one more attack before it leaves play.

Brace for Impact

The final War Pack in the Warlord cycle has arrived. You can command a Waaagh! and fight your way across the Traxis sector or unite the descendants of Isha and battle alongside the Dark Eldar and Eldar. Lead your forces to the Traxis sector and pick up your copy of Descendants of Isha at your local retailer today!
