Choose your side…
In AMERIKA, players choose to either take the side of the Allies, attempting to fend off Axis forces long enough to produce long-range nuclear weapon technology that will surely turn the tide of war; or the side of the Axis powers who seek to invade the United States itself and drive the final stake in the Allied resistance. From Vancouver to L.A., Ottawa to New Orleans, battles rage across North American soil for control of technology, wealth, and power!
Build your army…
What sets AMERIKA apart is the ability of commanders to build their own custom invasion force. Following the army build rules, each side can customize their force to suit their own strategy. Utilize your Build Points to purchase the first wave of units. Each miniature is worth a certain number of points. The first step is to determine how much to spend on Infantry Units. There are two types available, Foot Infantry and Mechanized Infantry. Players spend between 25 -50% of their Build Points on these, but may choose any mix of the two.
With the remaining points, players determine what they want to spend on Tactical Units like Self-Propelled Artillery, Medium Tanks, and Jet Fighters; and what to save for Special Units like the fearsome Heavy Tank, trustworthy Self-Propelled Anti-Aircraft Gun, and the deadly Heavy Bomber.
Deploy your forces…
Each Commander also controls how the forces are deployed at the start of the game. The Allies carefully build their defense perimeter with the limited force they have at the start, while the Axis look for a way to exploit any weakness and strike fast.
Face difficult challenges…
In AMERIKA, each side faces a duel challenge. The Allies must defend their cities to avoid losing control of the continent and the game, while simultaneously retaining control of their nuclear research facilities to ensure advanced weapon technology doesn’t fall into the wrong hands. The Allied player is awarded Victory Points for each research facility that remains safe each turn. When 100 points are accumulated, The Weapon is complete…
The Axis in turn, must capture a number of Allied cities to win the game. Easier said than done. Axis forces continue to land on the beaches in steady numbers, but the Allies can raise additional defense forces based on the number of cities in Allied hands. Often they out produce Axis forces in the first few turns. Therefore, it is imperative the Axis strike fast to capture as many Allied cities as possible before the defense has a chance to dig in and turn the invaders back. Axis control of the research facilities will buy them additional time, a strategy that must be carefully balanced.
Learn quickly, study for years…
AMERIKA introduces beginners to this great genre of board gaming. Games with plastic minis are great to look at and fun to play. Our minis really make a game come alive! With just 8 types of units to learn, new players will be up and running in no time. Rules are kept simple and fun with plenty of player aids to help everyone stay on track. Veteran game players will get to experience a variety of new units like jet fighters and self-propelled anti-aircraft guns, while being challenged to build “The Ultimate Force” to counter opponents.
