Sails of Glory: Erste Previews

Ares Games zeigen erste Bilder zu Sails of Glory.

Sails of Glory Artwork

Since the announcement of Sails of Glory, the upcoming game of naval battles in the Age of Sail, a long and careful work of prototyping and development has been done, and now we are proud to present the first prototype of one of the ships to be included in the first game series: “Commerce de Bordeaux”, a Téméraire class 74-gun ship of the line of the French Navy.

During the prototyping phase, it was decided to change the scale from 1:1200 to 1:1000, to make possible to provide more fascinating models, assembled and painted in high quality. To give an idea of how detailed and fine the models will be, they’re based around kits with 10 to 20 components and their painting process includes more than 30 steps.

The first series of Sails of Glory products will include four models –frigates of the Concorde and Amazon classes, and ships of the line of the Temeraire and Arrogant classes. Each model will be presented in four different variants, for a total of eight French ships and eight British ships.

Twelve models will be sold as a “Ship Pack”, each pack containing the assembled and pre-painted model, its game base, the game board with the stats of the ship and all the counters needed to play.

Four ships, one version of each model, two French and two British, will be featured in a starter set including the complete rules and all components needed to start to play Sails of Glory.

    😀
